Drive for Hope Golf Classic Returns to Port St. Joe: Driving Hope, Honoring Lives, Building Community

October 2, 2026 | St. Joseph Bay Golf Club | Port St. Joe, Florida

On October 2, golfers, local businesses, friends, families and community members will come together in Port St. Joe for the 3rd Annual Drive for Hope Golf Classic, also known as the Brandon Majors Memorial Golf Tournament.

Hosted by BeMAJOR Gulf Coast Realty, the annual event brings our community together to honor lives lost to suicide, raise awareness about suicide prevention, and remind one another that hope and connection matter.

Driving hope. Honoring lives. Building community.

Those words are more than a tagline for this tournament. They are the reason we keep showing up.

Why We Drive for Hope

The Drive for Hope Golf Classic began with the story of Brandon Majors.

Brandon was a shining light, and his life is at the heart of this event and the reason the BeMAJOR name carries such personal meaning. But as the tournament has grown, we've been reminded that his story is connected to so many others.

Families throughout Port St. Joe, Gulf County, the Forgotten Coast and beyond have experienced the devastating loss of someone they love to suicide.

Every one of those lives mattered.

Every family has a story.

And every person who is struggling deserves to know that they are not alone.

The Drive for Hope gives us an opportunity to bring those stories into the light, create conversations around suicide prevention, and support efforts that can help save lives. The event supports suicide prevention awareness and resources, including the work of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and all proceeds from the tournament go directly to this vital organization.

Remembering Brandon and Others We've Lost

One of the most meaningful parts of the Drive for Hope Golf Classic is the opportunity to remember those who are no longer with us.

Memorial signs throughout the golf course honor Brandon as well as other friends and family members from our community whose lives have been lost to suicide. If you'd like to honor someone through a memorial sign at this year's tournament, you can submit their information through our Memorial Sign Form

As golfers make their way around St. Joseph Bay Golf Club, they will see names and faces representing people who were loved, valued and missed.

For some, those signs will represent someone they knew personally.

For others, they may be a reminder that behind every statistic is a real person and a family forever changed by loss.

We believe remembering matters.

Talking about suicide prevention matters.

And creating a community where people feel seen, supported and connected matters.

A Day of Golf With a Bigger Purpose

Of course, there will be plenty of golf, too.

The Drive for Hope Golf Classic is a 4-person scramble at St. Joseph Bay Golf Club in Port St. Joe, with contests, prizes, lunch, a raffle, photo opportunities and awards following the tournament.

But the best part of the day may be what happens between the shots.

It's the local businesses that step up to sponsor the event.

It's the friends who put together a team.

It's the people who donate raffle prizes.

It's the conversations that happen around a golf cart or lunch table.

It's a community coming together around something that matters.

That's what makes this event special.

How You Can Be Part of Drive for Hope

You don't have to be a golfer to make a difference.

There are several ways to support the Drive for Hope Golf Classic and its mission.

Play in the tournament. Gather your golf buddies, friends, coworkers or family and join us for a day on the course.

Become a business or community partner. Local businesses can support the event through sponsorships and help us make the tournament a success while showing their support for suicide prevention awareness in our community.

Donate a raffle prize. Gift cards, products, experiences and other prizes from local businesses help make the event even more fun for participants while supporting the cause.

Spread the word. Sometimes the simplest way to help is to share information about the event with someone else.

Whether you want to play, sponsor, donate a raffle prize, or simply help spread the word, there are many ways to be part of Drive for Hope. Visit our Drive For Hope Golf Classic event page for all the information.

Why Community Matters

Suicide prevention isn't something that belongs to one organization, one family or one event.

It belongs to all of us.

A stronger community is one where we look out for one another, make room for difficult conversations, and recognize when someone may need support.

That's part of what we mean when we say Building Community.

At BeMAJOR Gulf Coast Realty, our work has always been about people. We help people navigate major transitions in their lives, but being part of a community means caring about more than real estate.

It means showing up.

It means serving.

It means helping when we can.

And sometimes, it means coming together to shine a little light in a place where there has been too much darkness.

Driving Hope. Honoring Lives. Building Community.

That's why we drive for hope.
